How Auditions Work

Auditions are held in two parts: individual auditions, and callbacks.

Your individual audition will consist of:​

• Several PSA members will greet you and briefly get to know you

• Our Music Director (Shree!) will lead you through vocal warm ups to get to know your range

• You will be led through some exercises to determine your pitch accuracy

• You will sing one minute of a song of your choice a cappella (no backing track!)

  • We recommend choosing something contemporary... no musical theatre :)​

  • This portion will be recorded

• If you cannot attend any of the audition times, please contact us.

Based on these initial auditions, we will call back those we want to hear more from within a few days via email. Be on lookout for an email from purduesoundtracks@gmail.com.

Callbacks will consist of:

• A song sent to you to be prepared in advance (on your specific voice part)

• ​You will warm up with the full group (and a few other auditionees)

• You will sing through the song several times to test blend and how your voice works with the group

• Callbacks will be on Thursday, September 4th, between 6:00 - 9:00 pm

We understand how scary auditions can be. Just try your best, be confident in yourself, and have a great time! We are there to support you and look forward to hearing how amazing you sound!
